PLANNING GRANTED FOR UNIQUE HOUSE WITHIN WDC'S 7KM PROTECTION ZONE
We have received the great news that our recent planning application for the extension and conversion of a unique single storey house in East Sussex has been approved. The property, a former agricultural potting shed, will be extended and re-modelled to create a modern, contemporary family home using a complementary palette of materials including vertical wooden cladding, bricks and natural slate roof tiles.
The vision for the architectural design form was derived from the desire to preserve the original expression of the property as an agricultural building, whilst simultaneously creating the extra living space and functionality needed for modern day family living.
The property is located within a 7km protection zone surrounding the Ashdown Forest implemented by Wealden District Council. Whilst this means that development within the protection zone is still allowed, careful attention has to be given to planning applications to ensure that nitrogen deposition is managed and the rules of the criteria are adhered to.
